Originally released in 2016, the core set of Arkham Horror: The Card Game is required to play the living card game and contains a collection of investigators, enough cards for two players to build their own decks and a campaign consisting of three missions. The Arkham Horror: The Card Game Revised Core Set will not fundamentally change anything about the way that game is played, nor will it include any cards that players wouldn’t have seen before. The Revised Core Set will include a collection of higher-level cards from several of the co-op game’s earlier expansions. According to the blog from Fantasy Flight Games - the studio responsible for Arkham Horror: The Card Game and the other entries in the Arkham Horror Files universe - which announced the Revised Core Set, the higher-level cards are designed to “give newer players more options when spending experience.” Players who already own all the expansions and Mythos Packs for Arkham Horror: The Card Game will not find anything they won’t already have in the Revised Core Set.īesides the higher-level cards, the Revised Core Set has apparently “received an organisational upgrade” which will make finding “specific cards” an easier experience. Investigators will be packaged alongside their suggested starting decks, with each mission - or scenario - having its cards packaged separately.
